The Black Rose Saga (Kurobara Hen) is, quite literally, if not figuratively, the Centerpiece of Shoujo Kakumei Utena. Its intrigue seeps through every episode of Utena....even the 13 episodes of the Student Council Saga (Seitokai Hen) that precede it. Flashbacks, and Gestalt Therapy and 100 burned boys and a twisted permutation of Black Power all create an entertainment that is compelling and confounding. In this section we'll examine The Black Rose Saga and some of its more apocryphal permutations, while paying homage to some REAL Revolutionaries and Duelists who actually DID Revolutionize the World.
