Knights of Columbus, Madison WI, 7.22.2012
It’s been a terrible Summer. More 100+ degree days than we’d have in most centuries. It’s unreasonable and intolerable and without an end in sight, almost as hopeless as one can imagine. It’s really (as if it’s) evolving itself into the psychotecture of the human psyche, or a metaphor of my psyche, whichever comes first, turning a thirsty and miserable world into an even MORE thirsty and miserable world. And that’s looking on the bright side of things.
Anyway, and despite it all, there are a few better worlds hidden away from clutch and grasp of a crackling and furious Earth. Only a few. Only for a short duration. Sunday, July 22nd 2012 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Madison, Wisconsin, such a world existed from 10 ‘ clock in the morning ’til 5PM in the afternoon. The Dairyland BJD 2012 Summer Meetup was that little and better world. It was the friendliest and most successful meet we’ve had. And of course, that’s always about the people, all 90, 97 of them, give or take. But the friendliest ones of all, of course, were the dolls, as always. And without further adieu, or references to William Faulkner or Martin Ritt’s classic film starring Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, here are the stars of the show:
INTERMISSION: The Circus Comes To Town
The Circus was a quite an impressive display. My thanks to all of our members who put a lot of hard work and effort into it. And now…on with the show:
